Toning Tuesday

This holiday season, well EVERY holiday season really, we tend to pack on the lbs as the sweaters and oversized clothes come out to play. Although we are enjoying all the amazing food that the holidays bring, we should still strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle though, am I right?

Here is one of my go to exercises I created that only includes body weight moves, for those who do not have access to a gym. This workout takes just about an hour and you will definitely be feeling it the next day. Enjoy and get ready to feel the burn! 

Maiya Papaya

Body Weight Workout -3 rounds of each set

Warmup: LIIT (low intensity interval training) – 10min run/walk, switch off running with walking every 30 seconds for the 10 min duration

Set 1

  • Push Ups – 10 reps (beginners do modified pushups aka girl pushups)
  • Sit Ups – 25 reps
  • Plank – 1-2 min (beginners try 30 seconds)
  • Jump Rope – 1 min (if you do not have a jump rope, just do the same motion without it)

Set 2

  • Scissor Kicks – 20 reps (beginners cut in half)
  • Jumping Jacks – 50 reps
  • Tricep Dips – 15 reps
  • Squat Jumps – 10-15 reps

Set 3

  • Mountain Climbers – 50 reps
  • Wall Sit – 1 min (beginners try 30 sec)
  • Bicycle Kicks – 60 reps
  • Lunges – 20 reps

Set 4

  • Bodyweight Squats (or Sumo) – 15 reps
  • High Knees – 5o reps
  • Side Plank – 30 seconds each side
  • Burpees – 10 reps (completely optional if you are up for the challenge, cus I know I am not 90% of the time lol)
